The Ethiopian government has asked the international community for emergency food aid for 6.2 million people.

The request came at a meeting of donors to discuss the impact of a prolonged drought affecting parts of East Africa.

The UN’s World Food Programme says $285m (£173m) will be needed in the next six months. Some aid officials say the numbers of hungry could rise.

Aid agency Oxfam has called for a new approach to tackling the risk of disaster in the country.

In a report marking 25 years since the famine that killed around one million Ethiopians, Oxfam said that imported food aid saves lives in the short term but did little to help communities withstand the next shock…continue reading…

Mocha Club Members

After realizing there was more I wanted to offer the world I started doing some research into what I wanted to do. I believe in helping others and often time in doing so you help yourself more. I think Ghandi said it well "the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in serving others" I had heard Matt Wertz talk about the Mocha Club so I decided to look into it. I immediately knew this is where I wanted to sow into. My hope now is that this small gesture will help change someone's life .

Clean Water is one of the basic needs to sustain life. I was stunned, no, embarrassed, to learn the death toll for lack of it. Where had I been? Oh right, lounging in my garden tub full of it! Time to towel off & get to work. Mocha Club is my feet on the ground in Africa. We make a great team!
