We are so incredibly excited to announce #blogABLE – an opportunity to bring some of our favorite online voices to see our work in Africa. Mocha Club is partnering with our sister company, fashionABLE, to take a group of amazing, talented ladies to see our work in Ethiopia. From August 10-14, we’ll spend time with our partners both at Women at Risk and at the fashionABLE headquarters. Follow along on our adventure!

Mocha Club Members

Travis
For the longest time, I’ve been trying to figure out just why I need Africa.  It seems like it should be so very simple.  I’ve been a Mocha Club member for years.  I interned and even went on a trip.  Then it finally hit me.  I spend almost 2 weeks seeing things that I would try to comprehend at home in my comfortable little life, but I could never really understand until I was face to face with them. I need Africa because Africa showed me a bigger reality than the one I thought I was living in.  I need Africa because Africa taught me how to dream big. Africa showed me that I too have a place in changing the world around me; it’s now up to me if I want to take it.

I joined Mocha Club is 2008 when I became aware of the desparate needs of our brothers and sisters in Africa. My monthly contribution is a reminder that not everyone has the luxuries that I am accustomed to. Each month, I see the impact that skipping a few coffee runs makes on children in need and am delighted to be a small part of Mocha Club's effort.
