Last year, I had the amazing opportunity to spend four months in Uganda. I met dozens of children who were denied the opportunity of an education because of finances. Just because I can't send every child to school, doesn't mean I shouldn't help the few that I can. The Mocha Club gives me a chance to make a difference. I love the heart behind the organization and the concept really enables people to create change when they otherwise thought they couldn't.

I originally joined Mocha Club to help create change in a world far less fortunate than mine. Through my time volunteering and interning, I learned not only about how much change Mocha Club was creating in Africa, but also how much I could learn from the Africans whose lives Mocha Club was affecting. I remember seeing the "I Need Africa" video for the first time and nearly being moved to tears from the truth of that film. Overall, the community of people involved in Mocha Club are not only intelligent, creative, passionate, and general rockstars, they also are welcoming and made me feel like part of a family working to better not only the lives of others, but also, our own lives.
